How OR can help save the environment?

W-GREENBELT: Workshop on GREEN and BluE Logistics and Transport

ABOUT the workshop

This workshop is focused on an area of logistics concerned with the reduction of both air pollution and the amount of resources required to satisfy a given demand. In particular, the workshop will focus on one of the most important factors contributing to greenhouse gas emission: the distribution of goods not only by road, but also by cargos and airplanes (also referred to as “blue logistics”).

This topic is timely as grow the interest in reducing emissions from transport as logistics. In particular, its footprint can be largely reduced by better planning the different activities carried out by conventional businesses, as shown by the high volume of recent research publications.
